Mom guilt tells us we have to pick a lane: be fully present at home or fully committed to the dream. I’m fresh back from our Barbados Selfish Retreat, and I’m here to tell you what it actually looked like to host a week-long women’s retreat as a mom and come out the other side more grounded, more clear, and honestly more convinced that “having both” is possible.
Barbados isn’t just a pretty backdrop. It’s the place that helped bring my life to life, and returning with a new identity, new responsibilities, and a whole lot of real-world logistics brought up so much truth. I share the behind-the-scenes of planning, the post-travel crash that forced me to take real rest, and why the world doesn’t fall apart when we stop treating rest like something we have to earn.
We also get into what made this retreat feel so powerful: a luxury villa team that let us receive care, a “delulu” mindset that made possibility feel real again, and the unexpected theme that kept coming up in compliment bags. Women felt safe to be 100% themselves, to wear what they want, speak freely, take up space, and opt out without judgment. The core teaching for the week is self-worth and value, and I walk through tools we used like human design and even a playful “glitter glasses” perspective shift that helped us see our gifts more clearly.

"Disney World might be the happiest place on earth but The Self(ish) Retreat is one of the safest places on earth to share your true self. All parts of you are welcome at the Self(ish) Retreat. It's an opportunity to make new friends and bond on a deeper level with old (and new) friends. You're guaranteed to learn something new about yourself. Jess takes care of all the details of the weekend so you can focus on turning inward and getting what you need out of the retreat."
"You NEED to work with Jess. No question. In the 4 months I have been working with Jess so far, my business and I have grown EXPONENTIALLY. Four months ago, I was just talking about the idea that I might start a business, and now I have left a career that wasn’t aligned for me, committed to the adventure of a lifetime, found my niche, launched my business, and rediscovered WHO I AM in the process. I promise you, YOU WILL NOT REGRET choosing 1:1 coaching with this powerhouse woman. Just make sure that you are ready to GROW more than you thought possible."
